In addition, there are many mystical stories circulating about Barhout Well. One of the most famous stories is the story of a man named Abu Hurairah. Abu Hurairah was one of the companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who was known for his vast memorization of the Prophet’s hadiths.
One day, Abu Hurairah was passing by Barhout Well. He heard the voice of someone calling his name from inside the well. Abu Hurairah approached the well and asked who was calling his name. The voice answered that it was a demon who was imprisoned in the well.
The demon asked Abu Hurairah to pray for him to be released from prison. Abu Hurairah prayed for the demon to be forgiven by Allah SWT. After that, Abu Hurairah continued on his journey.
Abu Hurairah’s story further strengthens the belief of the people that Barhout Well is the place where demons are imprisoned.
In 2005, a group of explorers tried to descend into Barhout Well. However, they were only able to descend to a depth of about 112 meters. After that, they had to give up because they were unable to penetrate the thick fog that filled the bottom of the well.
This exploration of Barhout Well further added to the mystery of the well. Until now, no one knows the actual depth of the well and what is at the bottom of the well.
Although Barhout Well has a creepy aura and is believed by some people to be a gateway to hell, the well still attracts the attention of tourists. Many tourists come to Barhout Well to see the mysterious well firsthand and to prove the truth of the mystical stories circulating about the well.
