Initially, the trundle frame was nothing more than a mattress in a drawer, tucked under the bed. This is obviously much more expensive than the original design, but the other option is actually not much better than a mattress on the floor. When your trundle bed is not in use, the popup will be lowered and the mattress and the now digitized frame will fit under your standard bed.
