Kitchen countertops are also the place where we put everything from groceries and supplies, to recipe books and the duties of children. Here are some tips on how to keep your kitchen countertops clean and free of germs.

Most will have specific instructions on how to clean and maintain it properly. Wipe surface dirt, dust, crumbs and leftover food particles with a damp sponge or soft cloth.

Clean travertine countertops, use warm water with liquid dishwashing detergent to wash persistent dirt, stains, and dry food particles. Use a soft sponge to moisten the surface. Let the soapy solution sit for a few minutes to loosen the hard dirt and then rub the areas that need special attention. Rinse with warm water and dry with a clean towel.
