Futons Beds and Beat

Futons Beds and Beat.

Makura is usually filled with nuts, wheat buckwheat, or plastic beads. Futons are designed to fit on Tatami - a traditional Japanese floor made of straw mats of various sizes and uniforms, bordered by brocade or plain black cloth, and packed with straws. In the 1960s, handmade cotton pads were used by hippies, students and health enthusiasts as alternatives to conventional beds.
